Hour of Code
This week you will participate in the Hour of Code. You will work with Mrs. Drew, the librarian, and me to work through challenges to program the fuzzy creature or bee robot through mazes.
3D Shape Hunt
Today we will use the iPads to take pictures of 3D objects in your classroom. We will use PicCollage to gather the pictures together, label them and outline where they are in the picture.

Do You Want To Be My Friend?
Today we will begin to work on our class movie based on the book Do You Want To Be My Friend? by Eric Carle. Each student will be either the mouse or one of the animals.
- Read the book in class then decide how the animals might answer the mouse if they could talk.
- Mice-Practice your line, then we will use the green screen to shoot you saying your part. Ms. Mellman will make mouse ears for us.
- Animals- Practice your part, then we will use YakitKids to make the animals talk.
- We will then use the Green Screen app to put it all together.
- Finally, we will bring it into iMovie to add music and sound effect
The Circulatory System
First we’ll watch a movie about the circulatory system, and then we will use Kid Pix to draw the pathway of the veins and arteries in our body.
Insects and Bees
Today we will watch a Brainpop, Jr. movie on insects. We will also learn about a special insect, the honeybee. A beekeeper will visit your class with all the equipment necessary for beekeeping.

Hour of Code
This week, December 9th through December 13, is Computer Science Education week. To celebrate we will spend our tech period learning the basics of computer coding. We will use the app Kodable on the iPads and help the alien fuzzballs roll their way through a series of mazes.
Pet Rock
You have created a pet rock in class and today you take a picture of your pet with the iPad. After you write about your rock, we will create a class ebook with the pictures and recordings of your writing.

I Am Wild!
Today you will create yourself as a wild creature using the website Build Yourself Wild. Click on the picture below to get to the site. You will save your picture and insert it into a Word document template. Use the word bank to help you type a few sentences about your creature.
Field Trip Movie
Let’s make a movie based on your field trip to Ward’s Berry Farm! Today we will use the app Drawing Pad to create a picture of something you learned about at the farm. We will put all the pictures in the app Explain Everything and record our voices describing our picture. Finally we will turn all our slides into a movie for all to enjoy.
Fall Number Boxes
