Keyboarding

Keyboarding is taught mainly at the Grade 3 level by the classroom teacher with support from Ms. Shapiro, the Instructional Technology Specialist. We use the Fingerwings method to teach keyboarding on Alphasmarts. As part of the program, the music teachers teach the students a song to help them learn where the keys are located. Students engage in lessons and practice sessions three times per week for approximately 8 weeks. Keyboarding instruction is supplemented in the computer lab with the software Type To Learn.

Student can practice keyboarding skills at home by using the following websites.
