Today you will create a want ad, similar to the one that Jacob created in Sarah, Plain and Tall, when he wanted a mother for his children. You will learn how to insert a picture from the Internet and how to add a border to your document.

Landform Flipbook

Today you will use Google Earth to find four examples of landforms. Save the images in a new folder called Landforms. Don’t forget to save a picture of the Earth for your title slide. We will create a flipbook by inserting the images and definitions for each landform into PowerPoint and printing them four slides to a page.

Today you will use the paint tools in Appleworks paint to create an original tessellation. We will translate a square many times until we achieve a unique tessellation. This lesson is based on Suzanne Alejandre’s great work at the Math Forum.

Today you will independently use Microsoft Word to key in your paragraph about weather, which you will use to help teach your Learning Buddies all about weather. Remember to place a school heading in the header area of the page. Center a title and indent your paragraph. When you finish typing run the grammar and spellcheck, change your font, and add a picture. Use your best keyboarding techniques.

Fable Voicethread

Key into Word the first draft of the fable.
